It has been proven that the second one with the fill up the blanks situation makes us remember those words 3 times more than the other.
the small brain squeeze, like a student calls it, is useful for the learning. not the other way.
The struggle to remember a new name, and when we remember it on our own during the same meeting, we will remember it long term. someone else gives you the name and chances are you will forget it.
don’t get too comfortable. don’t ask for everything to be made ready with no space for a small struggle. it could hurt your learning.
instead, take that small fill up the blanks as something good for your time invested in learning.
