Books like the Culture code tell us how more than the information in a pitch, it is the way it was presented that often decided which got selected.

the Culture Code. (Am.IN)

Words are just noise, they say.

WHo is confident with the idea, and other cues…

same with performance. the so called perfectionist player who belittles others for their mistakes very often sit and wonder why the imperfect player gets the likes while the perfect player is just told some appreciation for the sake of it…

How does the musician interact with the instrument? what is his face expression? how does he compare with a child who is in his playful Oblivion?

think Zakir Hussain, Kunnakudi… the jazz singer in purple dress, barely moving, singing that slow melody in her powerful voice…

It is not about over energy or over expression… Not one rule.

watch for these… when we see a performer who connects and moves… we are often seeing what it means to him, who he becomes… what the totality means to him and a lot of other things including the courage and conviction to be playful and innovate …

the music by itself, perfect or imperfect is an afterthought…
